R. I. P.

Even though CTC no longer maintains a formal ladder program, new members who are seeking the introductory function often provided by a ladder are invited to contact one of the club's "Welcome Committee" volunteers.

Current volunteers are:

Karla Barnette is a 4.5 lady who is looking for others who want to play or just hit.

Sharada Labadie, a 4.0 lady. She has volunteered to hit with anyone.

Marie Shrodes, a 3.5 lady, has also volunteered to hit with anyone.

Mike Wilkens, a 3.0 fellow will hit with anyone, but warns that if you are looking for a good workout, you might be better off contacting the ladies...

So--new members, please feel free to contact one of these individuals.

More volunteers are needed to help with this basic service of a ladder program, namely that of providing an introductory function for new members.  Requirements are:

1.  A willingness to play (at least once) with someone you have never met,

2.  To play at a level that would not unduly embarrass or discourage them if they were a weaker player,

3.  To be able to provide an assessment of their playing abilities relative to the general club population, and

4.  To offer to refer them to other volunteers at their playing level, if different from your own.

These gracious volunteers should consist of representatives from all current NTRP levels, men and women.

The opportunity to help does not occur frequently, but if you would like to give a little back to the tennis community and the club, please contact Mike Wilkens at:  webmaster@cupertinotennisclub.org
