CTC Ladders

The Cupertino Tennis Club has several ladders. The ladder program offers a great opportunity to play competitively, meet other members and practice between league matches and tournaments. The ladders activity was very competitive in 2008. We count on you to make this an active program.

The Cupertino Tennis Club tennis ladders will be based on the calendar year, starting in January 2009 and ending in October 2009. Ladder play continues and points have been reset; send scores to Bindu Rajani, Ladder Director. See Ladder Awards below to find out how to earn gift certificates while playing tennis.

Please take note that the ladder challenge for 2008 is now closed. The winner of the Men's single ladder was Orhan Baser. He received a $50 prize for playing ladder matches and having the most points. Dave Krug came in second and received a $25 gift certificate. Snyeska Bendis was the women's singles winner.

CTC has the following ladders:

1. Mens singles ladder.
2. Mens doubles ladder.
3. Womens singles ladder.
4. Womens doubles ladder.
5. Mixed doubles ladder.

The ladder point system

For each ladder match the winner(s) will get two points, and the loser(s) will get one point. The points for doubles matches will be awarded to each individual player, and add up to her/his cumulative points from other doubles matches.


Ladder awards

• The man and woman qualifying as First place winners in the SINGLES LADDERS on October 31, 2008 will each receive a gift certificate of $50. Each qualifying Second place winners will receive a $25 gift certificate. See additional rules for qualifying.
  
  
• Each qualifying player finishing First in the Men's and Women's DOUBLES LADDERS will receive a $50 gift certificate. Each qualifying Second place winner will receive a $25 gift certificate. See additional rules for qualifying.
  

Three additional rules apply in regards to the awards:

• No more than 30% of the points towards these awards may be recognized from the same opponent(s). Matches between the current top two players in a ladder are exempted from this rule.
• Any winner must have at least 10 points.
• The ladder coordinator is excluded from the award.
